Nonimmigrant Visitor Visas
B-1 Business Visitor Visa

Qualifications:
B-1 visa is for persons visiting the United States for business purposes.  Eligible business activities include: 

1.Engaging in commercial transactions which do not gainful employment in the United States; 2. Negotiate contracts; 
3.Consult with Business Associates; 
4.Litigate; 
5.Participate in scientific, educational, professional or business  conventions, conferences, or seminars; or 
6.Undertake independent research. 
Requirements:
  • The alien is entering the U.S. for a limited duration.
  • The alien intends to depart the U.S. at the expiration of his or her stay.
  • While in the U.S., the alien maintains a foreign residence which he or she has no intention of abandoning.
  • The alien has adequate financial arrangements to travel to, sojourn in, and depart from the U.S.
  • The alien will engage solely in legitimate.
Processing Time:
A B-1 visa is valid for up to one year. B-1 visas are renewable in six-month increments. Upon entry, a B-1 visa holder is usually given a six month stay, which can be renewed for another six month period.

B-2 Visitor Visa

Qualifications:
A B-2 visa may be issued to persons visiting the United States for pleasure.  Pleasure is defined as legitimate activities of a recreational character, including tourism, amusement, visits with friends or relatives, rest, medical treatment, and activities of a fraternal, social, or service nature.

Requirements:

  • The alien is entering the U.S. for a limited duration.
  • The alien intends to depart the U.S. at the expiration of his or her stay.
  • While in the U.S., the alien maintains a foreign residence which he or she has no intention of abandoning.
  • The alien has adequate financial arrangements to travel to, sojourn in, and depart from the U.S.
  • The alien will engage solely in legitimate.
